Sawdust is flying!

Standard

The guys are “making a lot of sawdust” according to Ernie. He is in his element teaching the young Haitian men about woodworking.  Right now they are finishing up 16 benches that are needed at the Community Center where the community feeding program, bible study and a Saturday night worship service take place.  The center is also used for recreation, it has a soccer area and basketball hoop which the kids love!

The goal of the woodworking program is to teach skills, both in wordworking and the skills needed to have your own business, while teaching biblical principles. Pray for insight and direction for this program and for the young men that will be a part of the program.  Pray for Ernie to have wisdom in how to train and teach.

Ernie is working on the design of a couch that we can use in our home and also the children’s homes.  Who knows who else might want one.  This is the beginning of a prototype.

A men’s and a women’s bible study started this week at Child Hope for the workers. We are excited to see what God will teach us during these times together.  We pray for unity and for spiritual growth for all who attend.

I am happy to say that Ernie and I feel like we have found a little house to rent! It will be available the 1st of April.  It is right down the street from the guest house so that is very convenient, we will be within walking distance of everything, which is great since we don’t have a vehicle.

We will have to purchase a refrigerator, stove, batteries, inverter, generator, mattresses and hopefully an air conditioner for the bedroom. Ernie will be building the furniture including bedframes, table and chairs, sofa, etc.

Please continue to pray for the provisions we need and for our health and spiritual growth.

Pray also for Haiti as a country.  The elections are still undetermined and many days there are still protest.
