We have been in Texas the last few weeks and really staying pretty busy. Our first weekend home we headed to Claude, Texas to visit our friends from First Baptist Church Claude. Parker and Martha Stewart graciously hosted our visit in their beautifully restored farm house. We were excited to see the members of Claude First Baptist who had been on the trip to Haiti and to meet their families. We also met the rest of the congregation and had so much fun with this very loving church. They just really made us feel welcome and loved and, did I mention, their ladies like to cook!
While in Claude we also were taken on a tour of Palo Duro Canyon and also some of the historic areas. A very relaxing trip.
The following weekend we celebrated Jake Casey’s first birthday.
On Sunday, August 30th we spoke at FBC Universal City and again were reunited with familiar faces from their trip to Haiti. It was great getting to meet many of the congregation and share a little of what was happening in Haiti. We had a great meeting and did some planning for their next steps in ministering in Haiti.
We also had a trip to Dallas in the middle of the week to meet with the staff at We Care Haiti. We were blessed to have our friends Tom and Bonnie Taylor host us while there and enjoyed long conversations into the late evening talking of visions and plans for Haiti.
This past Sunday we were able to be at our home church in Stockdale. So good to see our church family. After church we headed to the airport to pick up Austin and Courtney! So good to get the unplanned visit with them and to hear how their travels and work with Chick Fil A is going.
Please continue to pray for us as we seek God in all we do and how to serve our Lord in ways that bring honor and glory to Him.
