UMHB Team – What a great team!

Standard

I know I say each team that comes is a blessing, but that is so true! God has blessed us with such wonderful people that come and work alongside us here in Haiti and the girl’s team from UMHB was no exception! In 6 days we came to love all of them in their own unique ways. Their 2 coaches Kim and Janice were great leaders. Did I mention Malicia (our intern from last year) came with them! Everyone was so excited to see Malicia again!

We went to Diddi Washington’s home for boys on Saturday.  The girls were great showing them some different warm ups and drills. They also shared a couple of wonderful bible stories with them. They had planned on showing them how to make bracelets and well, lets just say, I think the boys showed them more about bracelet making, LOL. What a great day this was for everyone involved. Diddi was able to join us on our trip out to the mountain.

Out on the mountain they did some sidewalk building, cooking of high nutrition food, prayer walking and of course VBS with the kids. On the second day of VBS they shared the story of Christ death and resurrection. After this many of the children came and said they would like to follow Jesus. Praise the Lord he is moving in the hearts of these children.

Hard to say good bye to this group!

Hard to say good bye to this group!

I have to give a big thanks to Chandler, Morgan, Duckenson, Junior, Loobens and the staff at Bon Repos, for all their help this week.  We couldn’t do it with out them!

We are excited that our home church from Stockdale, as well as a few men from Corsicana, will be arriving this afternoon.  How fun to have them with us for a week!

Please continue to pray for:
The children out in Belo, that they will truly want to seek Jesus and follow him;
The families of these children;
For our Haiti team, that we have discernment on where to take each team to serve, and the stamina to lead each of the teams coming this summer;
For each of the teams coming this summer that God will reveal himself to them;
That God be glorified in all that we do!

From my reading this morning:
“Then, Jesus, calling the crowd to join his disciples, said, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me.  If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it.  But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it.  And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?  Is anything worth more than your soul?  If anyone is ashamed of me and my  message in these adulterous sinful days, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person when he returns in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”
Mark 8:34-38 NLT

    I “see” excitement in your voice. Sounds like you are having a great time besides sharing your work with those who come. What a blessing to the folks there as well as you. Always good to see friends from home both new and old. Love to you as always. Linda and Earl
