I am thankful for a merciful, loving, faithful, savior, Jesus Christ.
I am thankful for my family all of them.
I am thankful for the new addition to our family, Jake Casey.
I am thankful for friends that love us and faithfully pray and support for us.
I am thankful I was born in the United States.
The list could go on and on. This week, as many of you know, has not gone as planned. We came to Florida last week for a 3 day relaxation break and Ernie ended up in the hospital. I am thankful for good hospitals. The staff at the hospital was wonderful. We met many nurses and doctors that were from other countries including Haiti. Although we still don’t know what is causing Ernie’s low heart rate accompanied by many PVCs, we are told that his heart looks good and for that we are thankful. We have decided to wait until January to head to Texas for more test since they don’t feel this is a life threatening problem.
While the week has been a little stressful we have felt the prayers and support of all of you.
I have enjoyed the little things this week. Nice hotel room, talking to friends and family on the phone, water that I can safely brush my teeth in, bathrooms everywhere, a variety of restaurants, yummy salads, street lights, hot showers, orderly traffic, so many stores, just all the little conveniences we take for granted living in the United States. I am thankful.
We head back to Haiti this afternoon, I am thankful that it only takes 2 hours by plane and we are there. Charly our good friend will pick us up, I am thankful for his faithfulness in ministry with us. I am thankful that God has called us to serve among some of the sweetest people I have ever met. While sometimes it is hard and challenging it is also lots of fun and rewarding.
I hope as you go through this Thanksgiving Day you take the time to truly look at all that God has blessed you with and give him praise!
Thank you for caring enough to take the time to read my post!
Have a blessed, peaceful, joyful Thanksgiving!!
