Update on the house

Standard

Good morning!  First I am excited to say that Sarah Rose, our nurse from Washington state has arrived!  She landed in Port-au-Prince yesterday morning!  Can’t wait to get to know her better and get her set up to do clinic out on the mountain.

I wanted to give an update on how the house is progressing.  It seems like a slow process but when you look back, a lot has been done considering all the training that has to take place.  It has been a great time for Ernie to teach the Haitians and train new principles in construction.  Many times it is tedious and a bit frustrating, because usually take many repetitions, but also very rewarding when the light bulbs goes off and they understand.    From the beginning one of the goals has been to train people in construction so that they can use those skill to possibly find other work.  God has supplied us with many very good men and women.  It is during these times that we also get to share with them what God means to us and why we love them and want to help.

Here are some of the pictures of the things that have been going on in the last few weeks:

The room Ernie is sawing in up above will be the dining room and kitchen.  I can’t wait for that to be finished.  I have many ladies asking me to teach them how to cook and bake things.  I have been baking some things in my little kitchen.  Corn bread muffins and hot rolls have been a big hit.  You have to remember most don’t have stoves so have never baked anything.

Life continues to be challenging in Haiti at times but also very rewarding.  Please continue to pray for us as we seek to do what He has called us to do here in Haiti.  Share His love.

“For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son that whoever believed in him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

Give someone a big hug today!

Great “seeing” what is going on. Bro. Marvin talked about your ministry yesterday and the privilege we have to have a little part in it. Looking forward to helping some more. Love to you and Ernie from the Bishop’s
